All that Jazz
Meeting up with Virginia Jasmer from Springfield in Oregon, USA, involved no language barrier at all, and soon I was standing with a happy handful of her delicious, very feminine creations. Specially attractive were her flower bears, with little petal hats sewn snugly around the bruins' heads, making roses and hydrangeas come to life. "Fill your garden with new colours from ours!" is the motto on the front of Virginia's brochure, which makes you want to do just that.

A good eye for unusual colour combinations, such as mauve and black for a panda, means that Virginia is able to create teddies with a delectable difference. Antique details such as sheer organza ribbons, tapestry footpads or a scrap of beaded lace on a bear's tummy, bring a delicacy to her lady bears.
